Last year the Delta Lloyd Regatta celebrated its 25th birthday.
Last year the Delta Lloyd Regatta celebrated it`s 25th birthday. This milestone is the ultimate proof of the strength of this beautiful event and it`s a reward for 25 years of commitment and hard work from everyone involved. Even after 25 years we feel privileged to be hosting this event.
Last year the Delta Lloyd Regatta was added to the ISAF World Cup Series which shows that besides a beautiful tradition, this event is a guarantee for the best in the sport of sailing.
The recent appointment of Josje Hofland, jury member at the famous America`s Cup, as member of the organization committee is a definite contribution to raising the level of the sport of sailing.
The Delta Lloyd Regatta has build a big reputation when it comes to technical innovations. This year we will be broadcasting the Medal Races Live on the internet. Also new is the 3D Tracking & Tracing system which is absolutely unique for this event. This way the organization wants to contribute to the further development of the sport of sailing.
All of this wouldn`t be possible without the support of all our loyal sponsors. We are very pleased with the succesful partnership with our biggest sponsor Delta Lloyd and all our other sponsors: Provincie Noord-Holland, Ricoh, Gaastra, Heuvelman, Arma Verhuur, Citroen, SPA, Zeilen and Weeronline.
Let`s not forget that the Delta Lloyd Regatta would not be possible without the effort of all the volunteers. On behalf of the organization committee I would like to thank all volunteers, all authorities and our loyal sailingclubs: KZ&RV Hollandia, RZV Rotterdam, KWV De Kaag, KNZ&RV Muiden, KWS Sneek, KWV Frisia and WV Uitdam for their help and support.
Medemblik will also host a lot of activities and festivities during the Delta Lloyd regatta making sure the town will shine like never before. For 25 years we have felt ourselves at home in the beautiful town of Medemblik and it is wonderful to see how the event is being embraced by the local authorities. Therefore we would like to show them our gratitude.
There is no doubt that with all the enthusiasm and support of everyone involved the 26th edition of the Delta Lloyd regatta will turn out to be a fantastic and sportsmanlike event.
